Creating hope for tomorrow with Denka's chemistry.

Overview of Denka Asia Pacific

In 1980, to manufacture acetylene black, Denka Co Ltd established Denka Singapore Ptd Ltd (DSPL) as a pioneer member of the first Singapore Petrochemical Complex project.

Denka Advantech Pte Ltd (DAPL) was subsequently established in 1989 to produce fused silica filler, used primarily in semiconductor packaging. Denka’s fused silica filler boasts outstanding purity, capturing the greatest market share in the industry.

In 1997, DSPL set up a manufacturing plant for polystyrene, and after its expansion in 2006 and 2012, the plant has become one of the world's largest production bases for Styrenic Resins.

With the incorporation of Denka Chemicals Holdings Asia Pacific Pte Ltd (DCHA) in 2009, Denka Co Ltd has enhanced the group management function of Singapore for the Asia Pacific region.

In 2013, DAPL set up a plant to manufacture the synthetic fiber, ‘Toyokalon®’.

In 2015, DCHA acquired a Malaysian company and renamed it Denka Infrastructure Malaysia Sdn Bhd (DISB). DISB’s subsidiary company, Denka Construction Solutions Malaysia Sdn Bhn (DCSM), produces construction materials used in waterproofing, flooring, surface treatments and coatings.

DCHA has also invested in Denka Advanced Materials Vietnam Co Ltd (DAV), which consists of a new plant. The plant started manufacturing polyvinylchloride (PVC) tape, ‘VINI-TAPE®’ in 2015, and began the production of Denka Thermo Film in 2016.

In 2017, DCHA opened its first research and development (R&D) facility, Denka Life Innovation Research Pte Ltd (DLIR), in Singapore. DLIR focuses on vaccines and diagnostic research and aims to develop researchers under Singapore’s advanced life science R&D environment.

DAPL has started manufacturing spherical alumina from 2021. Spherical alumina is primarily used to make thermal interface materials for dissipating heat in electric vehicle batteries and other high-performance electronics. Leveraging on experience and proprietary manufacturing technology from fused silica, Denka is set to meet customers’ stringent demands for next-generation products that form the backbone of today’s modern world.
